ArtyParti Celebration 1 - Part 1.jpg

We held our first "Celebration" event last Thursday at the Arts Centre Washington - celebrating the work of glass artists in the North East.

Ayako Tani - with a PhD in glass practice and research from University of Sunderland, we discuss her lamp-working, calligraphic glass, and the "Vessels of Memory - Glass Ships in Bottles" project.

Sue Delbridge shared her stained glass arts practice, the "Creative Age" project with Equal Arts making glass with people living with dementia, the challenges of going freelance, and her support from The Enterprise Place.

Anthony Amoako-Attah shared about his process of recreating the fabric of the Ashanti tribe, known as "Kente", as pieces of glass art at the National Glass Centre.

Our live Celebration events are made possible thanks to funding from the Arts Council England & National Lottery Heritage Fund, through the Unlock strand of Sunderland Culture's Great Place scheme.
