About Rafał Marzec

Hello, my name is Rafał Marzec. I’m a music producer and DJ specialising in electronic music, mostly chillout and trance. I have lived in Sunderland for 10 years.

My musical journey started when I was a child, but it really kicked off in 2000 when I played my first gig as a DJ.

At the end of 2006, I released my first track.

In 2012 I decided to create my own independent record labels to release my tracks and help other young artists.

In 2019 I’ve decided to close the record level due to private tragedy in my life. Now I’m focusing just on myself.

At the moment I’m in the process of creating an album, which will be the biggest project for me. The album will be called ‘Back to the Roots’, and it will be a tribute to the music which ha inspired me 20 and 30 years ago.

It will be a double album split in two parts: The first part with the related to trance music, created as a continuous mix. The second part will be more focused on chillout music and electronic ballads. I’m always open to any ideas or collaborations.

You can find my work on all popular streaming platforms, but of course you can follow me on Facebook:

Hear Rafał Marzec on the ArtyParti podcast:

Welcome to the fifth 'Show & Tell' edition of ArtyParti - a live podcast recording hosted at Port Independent in Sunderland.

Artists & creatives of various disciplines are invited to "step up to the microphone" to share recent projects, the process behind their work, and the lessons they've learned along the way. This is a critically supportive community - inviting the audience to share reflections on each project, and celebrate creative practice.

Appearing for his second time at Show and Tell, electronic music composer and DJ Rafał Marzec introduced ‘Reflections’ - a track which mixes ambient recordings with the hand pan instrument.

Six artists & creatives from our first ‘Show & Tell’ event at Port Independent “step up to the microphone” to share their projects and practice.

Hear original writing by mixed media Sarah Drummond, who wrote a 100-line poem for her grandmother's birthday, and the opening extract from cyberpunk novel 'Joy-Land' by speculative fiction writer Stephen McGowan.

Enjoy original musical composition fresh from a new release by DJ and music producer Rafał Marzec, a unique take on self-portraiture which incorporates concentric circles by Julie Easton,  musings and recommendations from Albert Bennett-Cowell as he passed around his many sketchbooks, and Danielle Chamberlin's journey into artwork through her paintings at Kerry Cooke's classes at 'The Art Room'.

Together, we discuss the therapeutic and restorative practices of art, the benefits of procrastination within a hectic life balance, and our plans for the future as artists & creatives.
